Annual distribution of HBs Ag and anti-HBs in Korea
|

Abstract
|
|
|
Viral hepatitis is epidemic in Korea and the prevalent rate is also high in healthy population. HBsAg and anti-HBs are known to important marker of viral hepatitis.
So, the study of HBsAg and anti-HBs is needed in aspect of epidemiology.
In this study HBsAg and anti-HBs are detected by RPHA, PHA, and EIA method with 36,788 samples which had been brought to clinical laboratory of Dong san medical center during the period from Jul. 1981 to Jun. 1985.
The results are as follows:
1. Positive rate of HBs Ag was decreased annually during the examined period of 4 -years.
2. Positive rate of anti-HBs was increased annually during the examined period of 4 years.
3. Occurrence rate of HBs Ag was higher in winter but there is no significant variation by month.
4. Positive rate of HBs Ag was found highest in the age group of 10-19 years and decreased gradually with increase of age, and was higher in female than in male.
5. Positive rate of anti-HBs was found highest in the age group of 50-59 years and increased gradually with increase of age, and was higher in male than in female.
